Tabloid 3DS dizziness stories begin

As some in the industry were fearing, national UK newspaper The Sun has today run a story with the headline "Nintendo 3D ‘makes gamers dizzy & sick’".

"Hundreds of furious gamers have slammed Nintendo’s new 3DS console – for making them feel ill," it reads.

"Fans besieged gadget websites and Twitter to complain of dizziness, headaches and sickness after playing the hand-held device for just a few minutes. Some even reported seeing web pages in 3D after switching from the console to a PC."

Since 3D tech hit the mainstream it has become common for some users to report feelings of discomfort or, in a few instances, temporary illness.

Nintendo itself has advised that those under the age of six should not play 3DS and that other users should take a break every 30 minutes.

"When viewing any kind of 3D images some people might experience minor discomfort," UK PR boss Rob Saunders told the paper. "The effects are short-term and have no lasting effect."
