Crysis 2 yanked from Steam

In a move that was perhaps always an inevitability, publisher EA looks to have played its next move in its strategic kerfuffle against Steam.

Kotaku reports that recent shooter Crysis 2 has suddenly disappeared from Valve’s online portal. It can still be found, of course, on EA’s new Origin store.

In fact, the game’s page on Origin now carries the slogan "Buy Now – Only on Origin".

Interestingly, a number of other online retailers such as Direct 2 Drive and Amazon are still offering digital copies of the game. And a number of other EA titles remain available via Steam.

When announcing Origin earlier this month EA said that some specific special edition versions of their PC titles will only be available through Origin.
