PS4 release delayed in China

Sony will not release the PS4 in China on January 11th, as planned.

In a statement provided to Reuters the company said the last minute decision was made due to various factors”, none of which have been specified although it is claimed that prolonged negotiations with Chinese authorities” played a part.

A new date has not yet been determined.

It’s not clear whether the decision also impacts upon on the release of the Vita, which was supposed to hit China on the same day.

Sony previously announced prices of CY 2,899 (299) for the PS4 and CY 1,299 (134) for Vita. The home console will include a 500GB HDD and controller while it appears the handheld will only include the 1GB of internal memory and not an additional card.
