Radeon R9 290X scheduled for October 24th launch – rumour

AMD’s new top-end graphics card the R9 290X was supposed to launch tomorrow, according to rumour. Those same rumour-mongers now say it won’t.

VideoCardz.com reports that the R9 290X will now arrive on October 24th with the R9 290 arriving a little later on October 31st.

The site describes these dates as rumours, but a very good ones”.

It also believes that the cards, which don’t forget have yet to be officially acknowledged by AMD, were originally supposed to be revealed tomorrow (October 15th).

The reasons for the delay can only be speculated, with some saying that it’s to coincide more closely with the launch of Battlefield 4 and others saying AMD is waiting to for Nvidia’s expected GTX 770Ti reveal.
