Sony reveals PlayStation Vita TV microconsole

It’s been a busy morning for Sony.

Not content with confirming a Japanese release date for PS4 and announcing a brand new design for the PlayStation Vita, the company has also surprised onlookers with the reveal of completely new piece of hardware.

It’s called PS Vita TV. It’s a microconsole that plugs directly into a user’s TV and allows them to play Vita and PSP games using a DualShock 3 controller, as well as access streaming video and TV services.

The unit itself is just 10cm long and 6cm wide.

PS Vita TV will launch in Japan on November 14th priced at 9,480 (61). A bundle including an 8GB memory card and joypad will cost 14,280 (92).
