First game's design director praises Nintendo's console

Platinum Games wants MadWorld Wii sequel

Just last week Sega cited the disappointing sales of Madworld as one of the reasons behind its reluctance to publish future mature-rated games on the Wii – but now the game’s developer has said that it would very much like to return to the IP.

“The Wii is a very well-balanced piece of hardware,” Platinum Games’ Shigenori Nishikawa told ONM.

“I think MadWorld was very well received and was acknowledged for its innovative graphical style and gameplay. We would definitely be interested in making a sequel in the future.”

How easy it would be for Platinum to find a publisher is another question altogether, though despite the question marks over the sector there are companies out there doing very well from more left-field and specialist interest product.
