New model PS2 confirmed

, Sony has now confirmed that a new model PS2 will shortly hit the Japanese market – boasting a lighter weight and integrated power supply,

reports.

Launching on November 22nd, the new model is the same size as the existing PS2 Slim, but boasts an integrated power supply. It will cost YEN 16,000, the same price as the current machine in the territory.

A new stand will be launched alongside the console, and will retail for YEN 1,500.

In addition, on December 13th Sony will launch two new limited edition PSP packs, boasting a new Deep Red console and an assortment of peripherals.
