Halo 3 hits file-sharing sites

A week ahead of its official European release, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 epic FPS Halo 3 has appeared on internet file-sharing sites, allowing owners of modified consoles to download and play the game, according to

CVG

.

Whether or not this is linked to Argos’ mistaken early selling of the game on Wednesday is impossible to tell.

Owners of a normal Xbox 360 are not able to play the pirated software, so the leak only affects those who have already braved the possibility of a Live ban by opening up their machines.

Halo 3 is released in the UK on September 26th.
