No Man’s Sky keeps its name after legal tussle with Sky TV

Upcoming space sim No man’s Sky has avoided the need to change its name.

Hello Games boss Sean Murray has revealed that the studio has settled a three-year legal dispute with BskyB, which felt it had ownership of the term ‘Sky’. Indeed, so protective is it of the word the company forced Microsoft to rename its SkyDrive service to OneDrive in 2014.

Murray described the episode as secret stupid legal nonsense”.

No Man’s Sky was last month delayed from June to August, leading to Murray receiving death threats from disgruntled onlookers.
