Iconic destinations replaced with London start-ups in new board game

Mind Candy usurps Mayfair in Tech City Monopoly

A quirky new board game based on family classic Monopoly has been released based on London’s tech start-ups.

Created by The Kernel, and made to celebrate East London’s internet history, Tech City Monopoly replaces iconic destinations such as Liverpool Street Station and Park Lane with the likes of Google Campus and Wonga.

Moshi Monsters outfit Mind Candy meanwhile has replaced Mayfair, and is the most expensive company on the board.

Other London tech firms include Skimlinks, Huddle, Moo and Brainment.

Train stations on the new board game are based on co-working spaces such as The Trampery, TechHub, Google Campus and White Bear Yard.

The full Tech City monopoly set costs £70, although orders may take up to seven weeks.

You can visit the board game’s website for further details.
