Hirokazu Yasuhara joins Nintendo

Hirokazu Yashuhara, one of the co-creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, has joined Nintendo’s software technology division.

While Yashuhara’s title has yet to be revealed, it has been confirmed by the corporation (via Gamasutra) that the move will have him heading to the US for his new role.

Some of the division’s recent titles include Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem for DS and a list of DSiWare titles.

Yasuhara got his start at Sega in 1988, and had recently been employed at Namco Bandai while working on Pac-Man Party. He also has experience working on Western games, with a CV boasting senior designer of Uncharted and Jak & Daxter while at Naughty Dog.
