Amazon announces Fire TV exclusive Sev Zero

After unveiling the new Fire TV, Amazon has detailed it will also be making its own games for the device.

Sev Zero is new label Amazon Studios’ first game built for the Fire TV and is a Halo-style first-person shooter, which also mixes in tower defence elements and multiplayer components.

Available from today, the title is priced at $6.99 and free with the purchase of the newly unveiled Fire game controller.

The Amazon-branded controller was revealed as a dedicated gamepad for the Fire TV, which will cost $40. Users will also be able to control games on the Fire TV using their existing smartphone, tablet and the bundled Fire TV remote.

Joining Amazon Studios’ first-party titles is a line-up of third-party partners, including EA, Take-Two, Ubisoft, Disney and Gameloft. Amazon also revealed that gamers will have access to "thousands of games" as of next month, with the average cost of premium titles set at $1.85.

Available now, the Amazon Fire TV is priced at $99.
