Nintendo: Iwatas DS2 comments were misinterpreted

Nintendo has rubbished reports that Nintendo’s next DS will boast highly detailed graphics and motion sensing capabilities.

The information about the firm’s new handheld apparently came from Nintendo president Satoru Iwata himself, in an interview with Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun.

But Nintendo has issued a statement to Kotaku saying the news was misinterpreted.

Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America’s senior director of corporate communications, said: Mr Iwata did not make any comments regarding the functions of Nintendo’s future hardware systems. The answer to the reporter’s question was misinterpreted.”
