Games industry veteran Matt Broughton announced as new Editor of MCV/DEVELOP

Matt Broughton has been announced as the new Editor of MCV/DEVELOP. Matt started in the games industry in 1992 as a writer for EMAP Images, working on magazines such as The One for Amiga, C&VG, PC Review, as well as various other gaming titles.

He then moved into PR, working for the likes of Philips Media, Blue Byte, GT Interactive, Infogrames and Atari, where he was International Director of Communications. His last full-time position was at Midway Games, where he was European Marketing Director until 2005. He was also part of the group that championed the creation of the first Interactive BAFTA Awards in 2003 and continues to be a member and a judge.

Though Matt then turned to a career in television, presenting and commentating on various poker-related shows throughout the 2000s, Matt continued to contribute to and edit various magazines, including Flush, Casino International and – more recently – Park World Magazine.

Matt said: “I’m truly delighted to be re-entering an industry that I owe so much to. I look forward to meeting some old friends and making lots of new acquaintances. I’m just annoyed that I’m too late for all the Christmas lunches. Please put me in your diaries for Dec 2026. Thanks.”
