[Industry news] Curve Games signals growth ambition with major Wyldheart publishing deal

This is a press release posted alongside our usual editorial content.

Curve Games has announced a major new publishing partnership with independent developer Wayfinder Studios for Wyldheart, the highly anticipated co-op action RPG, in a deal that represents the publisher’s largest investment in recent years.

The inking of the deal marks an important milestone in Curve’s next phase of growth following its acquisition by Nazara Technologies in May 2025. With increased investment in its future roadmap, Curve is making bigger, bolder moves to identify and support games capable of competing in the premium ‘Triple-I’ and AA indie market.

Wyldheart also brings Curve back to an RPG audience which the publisher knows well through the success of its For The King franchise.

Developed by Wayfinder Studios, founded by former creative, studio and technical directors from DICE and Embark, Wyldheart is a fresh take on the multiplayer fantasy RPG. Combining the adventure and freedom of traditional role-playing games with survival gameplay and flexible drop-in, drop-out co-op, Wyldheart gives players a persistent world to share with friends and explore on their own terms.

The game has already generated considerable organic momentum. In addition to more than 375,000 wishlists on Steam, Wyldheart has attracted over 12 million organic views, built a Discord community of more than 6,000 members and raised €248,000 through Kickstarter.

The new deal reflects Curve’s strategy of backing distinctive games with a strong creative vision, clear commercial potential and the ability to engage players around the world. Wyldheart complements the publisher’s existing portfolio while offering something fresh and compelling, with the potential to build a significant long-term community across established and growing markets, including Asia.

Curve has built its reputation through globally successful independent IP including Human Fall Flat, For The King, The Ascent and Wobbly Life. With its strong early community response and accessible approach to co-operative RPG play, Wyldheart has the potential to become another enduring franchise within that portfolio.

“Everyone here fell in love with Wyldheart at very first sight, so it is thrilling that Wayfinder Studios has chosen us to build on the excitement achieved since it emerged on Kickstarter,” said Stuart Dinsey, CEO of Curve Games. “The partnership also comes at an upbeat moment for Curve, following the recent success of Sovereign Tower and the ongoing performance of For The King II, Wobbly Life and Human Fall Flat. We are looking to make ambitious investments in distinctive games and talented independent studios, and Wyldheart is a great example of where we want Curve to go next.”

“We’ve been incredibly fortunate with the response to Wyldheart so far, and finding the right partner to help us build on that momentum was really important to us,” said Dennis Brännvall, co-founder and CEO of Wayfinder Studios. “What stood out about Curve was how quickly they understood what we’re trying to make, who we’re making it for, and the kind of studio we want Wayfinder to be. We’re excited to have them alongside us as we take Wyldheart into its next chapter.”
