GamesAid raises £954,000 for ten UK charities

UK games industry charity GamesAid has managed to raise a massive 954,000 in the last year, smashing its previous funding record.

Last night (Thursday, September 15th), the organisation handed out cheques of 95,400 to ten different UK organisations – more than GamesAid has ever before.

Those receiving donations from GamesAid this year were Access Sport, Accuro, Action For Kids, Aidis Trust, Blackpool Carers Centre, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Lifelites, MAPS, Solving Kids’ Cancer and SpecialEffect.

In total, GamesAid has raised 2.7m over the course of the last nine years. This year’s 954,000 was a 69 per cent increase on last year’s already-huge 564,000.

GamesAid events this year have included the Stand Up For GamesAid comedy night and the GamesAid Golf and Spa Day.
