Hearthstone hits 30m players

Free-to-play collectible card game Hearthstone has registered 30m players, Blizzard has revealed.

The company announced the news via its Twitter account earlier today:

"BY THE POWER OF RAGNAROS, 30 million players have joined us by the hearth! Thanks for pulling up a chair!"

Blizzard’s statement would seem to debunkYahoo editor Tae Kim’s claim that the title had surpassed 75m users as of January of this year.

Hearthstone debuted on Windows PC in March 2014. The milestone comes just a few weeks following the game’s arrival on iOS and Android platforms.
