Tech features mixing capabilities and built-in DSP effects

Audio middleware FMOD Studio gets PS4 support

Firelight Technologies’ audio middleware FMOD studio will support PS4 development.

The toolkit, which has now been optimised for Sony’s next-gen console, offers extensive mixing capabilities and built-in DSP effects to help developers deliver audio in games.

Authorised PS4 developers and publishers can download an evaluation of FMOD Studio or FMOD Ex as of today.

“PlayStation 4 developers are going to love FMOD Studio and we are confident the future of gaming will sound better than ever,” said Firelight Technologies CEO Brett Paterson.

The news comes shortly after Firelight confirmed support for Microsoft’s Xbox One console.
