But Entertainment Software Association still backs the bill

EA, Nintendo and Sony retract SOPA support

Gaming giants EA, Sony and Nintendo have withdrawn their support from the Stop Online Piracy Act in the US.

The names of the companies have been removed from updated documents of the list of supporters for the bill.

Despite the withdrawal of individual support, the Entertainment Software Association, which they are members of, still backs SOPA.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Music Nashville also remain listed supporters.

The Stop Piracy Online Act was introduced to the House of Representatives last October, and aims to expand the powers of copyright holders to help battle illicit file sharing.
