LucasArts re-releases confirmed for GOG.com, including Star Wars: X-Wing and Tie Fighter

Classic space sims Star Wars: X-Wing and Star Wars: Tie Fighter are among many new LucasArts classics confirmed for a re-release on GOG.com.

Both will be released in Special Edition form (complete with increased resolutions) and both are designed to work with modern Windows PCs. No more DOS prompts!

It’s the first time either title has been released digitally. The games will, as is the way with GOG, be completely DRM free and cost $10 a piece.

The games are among 30 LucasArts titles that will be released on the service thanks to an agreement with Disney including The Secret of Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
