UBIDAYS ’08: Far Cry 2 boasts epic single player campaign

As well as making some

bold claims

about Tom Clancy’s EndWar, French publisher Ubisoft has also been waxing lyrical about its much anticipated FPS Far Cry 2 – claiming that the era of ‘blasting demons with plasma rifles is over’.

Far Cry 2 has received a excitable reaction from press following a new gameplay demo at the Ubidays event. The game’s creative director Clint Hocking stated:

The time for running through dark corridors and blasting demons with plasma rifles is kind of coming to an end. Bad action movies are about shooting people. The best action movies are about people.”

CVG is also quoting producer Louis-Pierre Pharand as saying: Just on single alone, gamers can potentially have close to 50 hours of game play.”

This is put into perspective when considering Call of Duty 4’s single player campaign, which clocked in at around five hours.
