Weight added to PS Vita claims

It’s looking increasingly likely that PlayStation Vita is to be the official name of Sony’s PlayStation Portable successor.

As reported by Eurogamer, a brief look at the net code behind Sony’s E3 website includes several references to the Vita brand as well as directories named ‘games’, ‘media’ and ‘features’.

The Vita name first started being thrown about earlier in the week after pamphlets including the branding appeared online. Domain names psvita.com and vita.scedev.com have also been registered.

Sony’s E3 press conference will take place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
