Bourne cancellation confirmed

As speculated by MCV yesterday, it has been confirmed that Starbreeze’s cancelled EA project is indeed the previously confirmed game based on Robert Ludlam’s spy character Jason Bourne.

Immediate questions were asked of the future of EA’s ten-year agreement with Ludlam Entertainment, but both parties have since pledged their commitment to the deal.

An EA spokesperson told the LA Times that EA and the Ludlum Estate are still discussing making a game based on the Bourne franchise” – perhaps suggesting that work had never even got underway on the project.

A source said to be close to the Ludlam Estate” added that the pair’s partnership remains in effect”.

EA’s only licensed movie work for the time being centres on Warner’s Harry Potter franchise.
