Now Currys cuts 3DS to £179

It’s been out of the games biz for some time, but clearly Dixons Retail has spotted an opportunity to burst back into games retail with aplomb.

Tech Radar reports that the Currys store in London’s Oxford Street will be opening its doors at 23:45 tonight to welcome the 3DS’ UK launch. Furthermore, the first 150 customers in line will be able to buy the device for just 179.

The same deal will be running in its flagship Birmingham store, which will open at 23:30.

That doesn’t match the incredible 175 offer exclusively revealed by MCV this morning, but is still a quite incredible discount on the prices first advertised for the 3DS earlier this year.

Currys will also be offering a 75 voucher book, a 5 discount off selected 3DS titles, 15 cut from Wii Fit and a 20 discount on Wii consoles.
