Razer valued at more than $1bn – report

Gaming tech company Razer currently carries a value greater than $1bn, according to a leaked document tied to a new round of funding from Intel.

Techcruch has its mitts on an internal memo from the firm that states Razer is a billion dollar unicorn” in the tech world.

"We’re already one of the billion dollar unicorns in the tech start-up world, and now we’ve got more resources than ever to allow us to focus on designing and developing the best experiences for gamers worldwide,” the document reads.

The memo also makes mention of three new board members, with one identified as an investor in the company.

Razer is currently focused on the wearable computers market, though the brand is also known for its high end laptops, tablets and peripherals.
