Tool makes it easier for studios to manage and synchronise game data

Couchbase Mobile released for Unity developers

Database provider Couchbase has announced a new version of its biggest tool that is aimed specifically at developers that use the Unity game engine.

Couchbase Mobile for Unity offers studios an alternative way to manage game data and data synchronisation without needing to learn or write extra code. Instead, they can use a "fully featured, lightweight embedded NoSQL database".

By using Couchbase Mobile, devs will be able to sync player and game data across multiple devices and platforms automatically, as well as deliver updates that don’t require reinstalling them game.

The technology will be demonstrated at Couchbase’s booth – No. 425 – at the GDC Expo in San Francisco this week.
