Additional Government backing for Shanghai industry conference

GDC China secures support from Ministry of Culture

A number of divisions of the Chinese Ministry of Culture have pledged support for the GDC China event taking place in October.

The conference, taking place in Shanghai, had already secured endorsement from The Economic and Informatization Commission within the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Additionally, the Administration Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and TV within the China Ministry of Culture has urged relevant associations, organisations, and professionals to support GDC China, adding weight to the status of the conference internationally.

“As someone who runs a studio in China, it is reassuring to see key governmental ministries now supporting GDC China,” noted Paul Steed, president and CCO of Exigent.

“GDC has always been committed to bringing the most relevant learning experience to each of its conferences. I view the GDC’s influence as being critical to driving the success of the Chinese game development community, and in turn, the regional games industry.”

GDC China takes place from October 11th to 13th. For more information visit the official website.
