New Game Design, Production and Business & Management track sessions announced

GDC09: Further speakers confirmed

The first sessions that make up GDC09’s Game Design, Production and Business & Management tracks have been announced, with speakers from Bungie, Maxis and Ubisoft.

Peter Molyneux is speaking in a session named Lionhead Experiments Revealed, joining Dan Teasdale of Harmonix and Jonathan Morin of Ubisoft in hosting elements of the Game Design track.

Elsewhere, in the Production track, Spore is the subject of a newly revealed session lead by Caryl Shaw of Maxis, while Allen Murray of Bungie will discuss the developer’s approach to production.

Sessions announced for the Business & Management track cover topics such as audience demographic shifts and trends, early stage funding for start-ups, and business stability, and include speakers from Gameplay Holdings and Demiurge Studios.

Finally, keynotes have been confirmed for some of GDC09’s summits. The Localisation Summit keynote by EA’s Jaime Gine is titled The Pathway to Truly Global Game Development, while the IGDA Education Summit keynote by Avant Game’s Jane McGinigal addresses How to Develop Games That Re-Invent Life as We Know It.
