‘There is incredibly creative talent in this country that needs the right kind of backing to scale valuable IP to global markets’

Ian Livingstone joins Creative England board

UK game industry icon Ian Livingstone has joined the Creative England board.

He’s joined by former HarperCollins board member and publishing industry veteran Belinda Budge.

Creative England provides a number of funding and support initiatives for the UK game and creative industries including the GamesLab programme that provides grants to developers in various regions around the UK. Most recently Creative England opened up the second round of funding for projects in the West Midlands.

“Through the GamesLab programme, the team have strived to provide much-needed funding to the flourishing UK indie games scene,” said Livingstone.

“With the boom in digital consumption of games, this couldn’t have come at a better time. There is incredibly creative talent in this country that needs the right kind of backing to scale valuable IP to global markets. It is important that the industry is supported to ensure the UK maintains its rightful place as a global leader in games production. I look forward to working with Creative England to help make this happen.”
