Graham McNeill leaving Nottingham for California

Warhammer author joining Riot Games

Warhammer author Graham McNeill is joining Riot Games as senior narrative writer on League of Legends.

McNeill has previously worked at Games Workshop between 2000 and 2006. He has also written numerous novels, including New York Times bestseller A Thousand Sons. Despite taking up a full-time job at Riot, McNeill said he still plans to write more entries in the Horus Heresy series.

The author had been based in Nottingham in the UK, but will now move to California.

“It’s a life-changing adventure that’s going to be exciting and challenging all at the same time,” said McNeill.

“It’s the kind of chance we had to snatch with both hands, as it’s the kind that doesn’t come around more than once. And I’d hate to look back in years to come with any kind of regret for the chances we didn’t take. So with a mixture of giggling excitement and trepidation at the thought of stepping into this brave new world, we’re getting packed up and looking west to this fresh phase of our future.”
