Doctor Who: The Adventure Games set for October return

The BBC’s series of downloadable Doctor Who games will return in October, starting with The Gunpowder Plot.

As with the original four episodes, released last year, the new wave of Adventure Games will be free to download via the BBC website and will star Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond. Arthur Darvill will also join the cast, reprising his role as Rory Williams.

The games have been developed by UK based studio Sumo Digital, and written by experienced Who writer Phil Ford. Among the executive producers are games industry veteran Charles Cecil and Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat.

The Gunpowder Plot sees players meet with Guy Fawkes as they battle aliens in London, 1605. The BBC has also confirmed that the episode will see the return of two classic Who enemies.

Doctor Who: The Adventure Games have recieved over 2.6m download requests since the launch of the first episode, City of the Daleks. The series was a finalist as this year’s Develop Awards, which were held last night.
