Games Meets Music Returns After Breakthrough Debut, Connecting Developers with Major Music Industry Power Players

Second edition follows tangible business wins for attendees in 2025

Following a successful inaugural event that resulted in confirmed new partnerships and commercial deals for attendees, Games Meets Music returns for its second year with an expanded programme aimed squarely at developers, publishers and commercial leaders.

Launched in 2025 to bridge the long-standing gap between the games and music industries, the event quickly established itself as a practical business forum rather than a purely creative showcase. Multiple studios and music companies reported new sync conversations, licensing discussions and ongoing collaborations directly resulting from introductions made on the day.

The 2026 edition builds on that momentum, bringing together senior voices from across the sector including representatives from Ubisoft, Supercell, King and PlayStation, alongside executives from PRS for Music and The BPI.

Designed for indies through to AAA studios, this year’s programme tackles the commercial realities of music in modern game development, including:

  • Demystifying music licensing and rights management

  • Audio strategy in mobile and live service environments

  • Building franchise-defining sonic IP

  • Structuring successful artist collaborations

  • Understanding long-term revenue opportunities beyond the game itself

A fireside chat with Barry Burns from Mogwai will explore how established musicians approach interactive projects and what developers need to understand when crossing into artist-led collaborations.

With live service models expanding and cross-media strategies becoming central to growth plans, organisers argue that music is increasingly a board-level consideration rather than a late-stage production decision.

Unlike broader conferences, Games Meets Music positions itself as a focused environment where developers can meet rights holders, labels, composers and supervisors in one room — and have commercially meaningful conversations.

The event is open to developers, publishers, audio directors and business leaders across the games sector.
