PSP update debuts Digital Comics

PSP owners can now download the Digital Comics reader, thanks to the latest firmware update.

Today’s version 6.2 update enables players to download the comics application, announced at this year’s Gamescom, ahead of the Digital Comics store’s December launch, according to the European PlayStation Blog.

The reader is currently available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Sony added that Digital Comics will be launched in other countries during 2010.

The firmware update also introduces the PlayStation Network Video Delivery service to the UK, Spain, France and Germany, allowing PSP owners to purchase or rent blockbuster movies.

Finally, gamers will now be able to transfer video and photo playlists from their PC or PS3 to the handheld.
