EA and Zynga back Amazon’s Kindle Fire

PopCap, Zynga, Gameloft, EA and Rovio are leading the charge to publish games for Amazon’s new iPad competitor Kindle Fire, the online merchant has revealed.

As well as accessing thousands” of games, users will also be able to use apps including Netflix, Twitter and Facebook when the Android compatible device launches next week.

"We started talking to app developers everywhere the day we introduced Kindle Fire, and the response has been overwhelming," Amazon Kindle VP Dave Lamp said.
