Company will now be called Gree International Entertainment

Andrew Sheppard promoted to CEO as Gree rebrands

Gree International has announced that Andrew Sheppard is taking on the role of CEO.

The US-based mobile games firm hired Sheppard back in 2014, ending his five-year term as president of worldwide studios at Kabam. Previously Gree’s COO, he replaces Naoki Aoyagi, who will now serve as advisor.

The promotion coincides with Gree’s decision to rebrand as Gree International Entertainment, Pocket Gamer reports. The firm says this change will see it “focus on creating games that reflect a broader view of the gaming entertainment landscape”.

Sheppard added: "It’s an honour and a privilege to be appointed CEO at such an exciting time when the company is transforming from a mobile games company to a major player in the larger interactive entertainment landscape.

"I couldn’t be more confident in the unique and innovative roadmap that we’ve created to help take us to the next level, and look forward to leading our teams to many great successes along the way."
