Hamburg firm has recruited 400 staff since start of the year

German developer Goodgame hires 1,000th employee

Goodgame Studios now houses 1,000 employees, making it the largest game company in Germany.

The firm has recruited some 400 staff since the start of the year to its Hamburg, Tokyo and Seoul offices. In September alone, it brought in 86 new employees.

Several hundred vacancies in development and marketing roles are still open at the studio.

“We’re convinced that this targeted increase in staff is necessary for the lasting and sustainable growth of the company," said Goodgame COO and co-founder Christian Wawrzinek.

"Despite the large number of new employees, we have extremely rigorous standards when selecting staff and only hire around 1.5 per cent of all applicants. We also search for the best talent all around the globe in order to meet our high demand.”

Goodgame Studios was formed in 2009, and has developed titled such as Goodgame Empire, Goodgame Big Farm and Shadow Kings – Dark Ages.
